When hosting a party, instead of worrying about your guests tracking dirt throughout your home, let your guests know ahead of time that you would appreciate if they would understand that you will be holding a shoe-free party. A big mat outside your front door and an area rug inside the entry will trap most of the dirt.
Rather than expecting or asking your guests to go barefoot, make the process fun and festive by providing a basket full of clean fluffy socks in various thicknesses and sizes from manufacturers such as Smartwool or Hue. Include non slip terrycloth socks, ballet flats, or Asian slippers for women. Even new, clean slippers from luxury hotels or spas can work plus be great conversation starters!
